The San Jose Sharks won their second game in a row on Monday night, but not before getting a major Macklin Celebrini injury scare.
During the third period of a game against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., Celebrini accidentally took a puck to the face while playing defense. The 19-year-old center immediately dropped his stick and fell to the ice in clear pain.

Celebrini left the contest to get his face checked, and fortunately for San Jose, he was able to return to the action several minutes later, indicating that he did not sustain a serious facial injury.
Undoubtedly the most important Sharks player, Celebrini played a huge role in his team’s 5-4 victory over the Ducks, as he recorded 3 points in the contest. He scored a goal in the first period and had 2 assists in the second frame.
With yet another impressive performance, Celebrini managed to reach the 60-point plateau in just 39 games in the 2025-26 NHL season. He is now just 3 points away from tying his 63-point output in his rookie campaign in the 2024-25 season, where he played 70 games.
After losing three contests in a row, Celebrini and the Sharks (19-17-3) are now on a two-game winning streak, giving them momentum going into a three-game homestand that begins on Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild at SAP Center at San Jose in San Jose, Calif.
