Following another early playoff exit, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been a team that many around the NHL have kept their eyes on this summer. Toronto was booed off the ice by its home fans, and it led to the front office desperately searching for answers.
Toronto lost star Mitch Marner in free agency, and the team has struggled to replace his production in the lineup. But there could be some light at the end of the tunnel for the Maple Leafs, and it could come in the form of another move.
According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, the Maple Leafs are still looking to potentially make a move before the new season starts. Toronto has been rumored to be shopping young player Nick Robertson, and it seems that a deal could be made late in the offseason.
Chris Johnston: Still there's some talk out there that the Leafs are open to moving [Nick] Robertson around the league; maybe there's a window here; teams start juggling their rosters around as we get through training camp - Chris Johnston Show (9/10)

Last season for the Maple Leafs, Robertson dropped 15 goals and put up seven assists on the year. Robertson is one of the better assets that Toronto has to use in potential trades, and it could see the front office get active.
The Maple Leafs have reportedly been searching for a way to add another top-six forward to the mix, and Robertson could be dangled in trade talks. Teams are now looking for ways to finalize their rosters for the season, and this is where the Maple Leafs could strike.
With all the narratives going around the Maple Leafs organization this summer, a late-season move could save some face. This team wants to win a Stanley Cup, but the roster isn't likely to be seen as a true contender as currently constructed.
