Matthew Tkachuk Announces Major Personal News Weeks After Olympic Triumph

Florida Panthers and Team USA star Matthew Tkachuk has announced some outstanding news.

As revealed on the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast, Tkachuk and his wife, Ellie, are expecting their first child. They are waiting to learn the baby's gender.

"We aren't finding out," Tkachuk said. "We're going old-school approach, which I wasn't too fond of early, I will say, because it's right there. All we have to do is look."

Tkachuk recently helped Team USA win its first Olympic Gold Medal in men's hockey since 1980. The United States beat Canada 2-1 in a thrilling overtime in the Gold Medal Game. Jack Hughes scored the golden goal for the United States.

Tkachuk also represented the United States during last year's 4 Nations Face-Off. Canada beat the U.S. in the championship game, only for the U.S. to get its revenge a year later.

Tkachuk is a back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion, helping the Florida Panthers win the Stanley Cup in 2024 and 2025. He finished the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs with six goals and 22 points in 24 games before finishing the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs with eight goals and 23 points in 23 games.

It looks unlikely the Panthers will make the playoffs this season, as they're 11 points out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They'd have to go on a big run and hope that a lot of the teams in front of them lose their games.
