Matthew Tkachuk Reveals His True Colors When Asked About Connor McDavid in New Interview

Matthew Tkachuk and the Panthers blew the Oilers away again in the Stanley Cup Finals, and when asked about it, he showed no sympathy for Connor McDavid.

Over the past two years, the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers have built up quite a rivalry, and with two straight Stanley Cup Finals wins, thus far, it's the Panthers that have the major edge.

Unsurprisingly, that's led to plenty of trash talk from that side, and even after winning back-to-back Cups, the trash talk hasn't stopped, with Matthew Tkachuk making a pointed statement towards Connor McDavid in his latest interview.

'It's hard (winning back-to-back Stanley Cups). I've gotten a few here today from Western Canadians like, 'Can't you just let Edmonton get it?' or 'Do you feel bad for them?'

I'm like, you don't feel bad for anybody because at the end of the day, we lost to Vegas a few years ago and nobody gave a s**t about us.'

On the surface, it doesn't sound that respectful from Tkachuk, but in the end he makes a great point, as they were given no sympathy despite fighting through immense injuries to get to the Stanley Cup Finals back in 2023.

However, those Western Canadian fans continue to ask him why can't he let the Oilers win one, and as a former Calgary Flames star, it gives him even more motivation to stop his career rivals from getting one.

Ultimately, this is the type of trash talk and rivalry that brings life to the National Hockey League, and with McDavid and the Oilers motivated to win their first Stanley Cup as a group, you can bet this is only going to serve as more and more motivation for them.
