Max Pacioretty seemingly takes a huge shot at his former teams

Max Pacioretty is now with the Toronto Maple Leafs which must really hurt all of the Montreal Canadiens fans out there.

Pacioretty was one of the best goalscorers the Canadiens ever had post-lockout. However, he is now a lot older and his production is set to be greatly reduced. That said, the Toronto Maple Leafs are happy to have him, and it seems like he is very happy to be with the team. In fact, it is now being reported that Patches will get a real contract instead of just a PTO.

Recently, Pacioretty made some interesting comments to the media about his new team. In fact, some may take this as a bit of slight to all of the other teams he has played for, especially the Habs.

'This is the hardest group I've ever been a part of.'

By this, Pacioretty simply means that the group has a lot of toughness and grit. This is certainly interesting as the Leafs haven't really been known for that over the years. Instead, they are mostly known for their skill and being able to score goals. Perhaps Craig Berube has given them a whole new mindset.

No matter what, it will be interesting to see what kind of leadership and production Pacioretty is able to bring to this Leafs team. For now, it seems like he won't have a huge role, but that may change as things become more certain about the season.
