Milan Lucic Signs With New NHL Team After Arrest in 2023

Former Boston Bruins Stanley Cup winner Milan Lucic, who left the team under controversial circumstances, has signed a PTO with the St. Louis Blues.

Milan Lucic is getting another chance to earn a contract in the NHL, as he was signed to a PTO (professional tryout) with the St. Louis Blues.

Lucic's NHL career appeared to be over after he took an indefinite leave of absence from the team in 2023-24 and entered into the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.

Lucic had returned to the Bruins for their centennial year after spending several years away from the franchise with the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames.

Lucic was part of Boston's Stanley Cup winning team in 2011 over the Vancouver Cancuks, and he also helped them to an appearance in the SCF in 2013, though they lost to the Chicago Blackhawks.

He last played on October 21, 2023.

He has 584 points (233G, 353A) in 1,177 NHL games.

Lucic was arrested in November 2023, though the charges would later be dropped She would later file for divorce. It now appears they are trying to get back together, however.

At the time of his arrest, the Bruins released a statement in which they promised they were taking the matter very seriously.

The organization takes these matters very seriously, and we will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need.

He was ruled ineligible to play in the NHL by Gary Bettman, and the Bruins let his contract expire on June 30, 2024.
