Mitch Marner's future in the NHL appears to lay beyond Toronto, and now, he's reportedly put together a short list of eight teams he could land with in free agency.

The Toronto Maple Leafs failed to go deep in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and as a result of the backlash and criticism given to the team, especially Marner, it's led to the veteran forward likely testing out free agency this summer.

According to many reports, if Marner does leave Toronto, he's likely to leave Canada as well, ruling out six teams, and now, according to David Pagnotta, he's compiled a short list of teams that he'd be willing to sign with.

It's unclear exactly who the teams are, but in the process of revealing this report, Pagnotta noted that the Los Angeles Kings and Vegas Golden Knights are among them, something that has Kings fans incredibly excited after their own disappointing Stanley Cup Playoffs exit in 2025.

With the two teams revealed, it's clear that Marner could be targeting a move to the West, especially given that he may not want to meet the Florida Panthers or even the Maple Leafs in the postseason moving forward, but in both L.A. and Vegas, he'd have a fantastic chance to win and be a big reason behind that.

Beyond these two teams, Elliotte Friedman has speculated that the Anaheim Ducks could be a genuine landing spot for Marner, with the Panthers a team that shouldn't be discounted either, as Marner may look to join the enemy, rather than try and defeat them.

At this point in time, nobody quite knows where Marner is going to end up, but with the list of potential destinations narrowing, we may know soon enough where the star forward will end up in the summer.
