In fact, there are two bad news, but one in particular that will eventually have a tangible impact on the Habs.
The team's second first-round pick in 2022, Filip Mesar, has suffered another serious injury, raising real doubts about his future with the Canadiens.
Will he become an impact player for Martin St-Louis' squad one day? Doubts are growing, and this is obviously far from ideal.
Two long-term injuries announced within the Montreal Canadiens organization, including one involving Filip Mesar, a player expected to be important for the Habs' future
See the official statement in question.
'Forward Filip Mesar (upper body) will be sidelined for up to six weeks.Defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer (lower body) will be sidelined for four to six weeks.'
Laval Rocket
The injury to defenseman Hoefenmayer is also important for Montreal Canadiens fans to know, for two reasons.
1- He is one of the Laval Rocket's top defensemen and a serious call-up option.
2- His absence gives Logan Mailloux greater responsibilities.
Filip Mesar, 21 years old, is a 5-foot-10, 184-pound forward, a close friend of Juraj Slafkovsky, and was drafted 26th overall by the Canadiens in 2022 (1st round).
This season with the Laval Rocket, he has recorded 9 points in 25 games, including two goals.
He is clearly not developing at the pace expected by the Canadiens' management.
