Montreal Canadiens phenom makes surprising comments about Patrik Laine's salary

Patrik Laine is currently getting his first practices in with the Montreal Canadiens, and he is already making an impression on his teammates.

Overall, Laine is someone who is trying to strip himself of some negative narratives. As many already know, there is this stigma against him for being a lazy player. Moreover, some fans just don't think he is actually responsible on the ice, especially when it comes to the defensive side of the puck.

However, despite all of this, Laine is impressing his teammates right now. For instance, Juraj Slafkovsky came out and had some interesting comments about Laine. In particular, he spoke about how Laine is currently making over $8 million per year.

'During the practices, you can see why he makes $8.7 million.'

Ultimately, this is going to be an interesting experiment. There isn't a lot of pressure on Laine as the expectations are extremely low. However, if he proved to be a dud, then a whole lot of Habs fans are going to be exceptionally upset. Only time will tell how this all ends up shaking out.
