Recently, we saw Patrik Laine go down with a knee injury after a hit from Cedric Pare. Of course, Xhekaj took care of that. However, some fans felt as though it wasn't enough justice and that Pare should have never felt comfortable doing that to begin with. It has subsequently led to a deeper discussion about the Habs and how outside of Xhekaj, they might just be the league's softest team.
Well, according to some intel from former Habs enforcer Georges Laraque, it would appear as though the team is ready for war. A top priority right now is for the team to get itself a bottom-six forward who can act as a complementary piece to Xhekaj.
'- @GeorgesLaraque
mentionned that MSL thanked Xhekaj for protecting the guys and has realized that the team is lacking toughness.
- The Habs could be looking to add another forward to the bottom 6 in the same kind of role according to @MaximeTruman.'
One has to wonder how quickly the Canadiens would be able to get something like that done. After all, enforcers who can actually produce offensively don't come around often these days. No matter what, it is clear that the team wants to have a more intimidating aura that will deter teams from dirty hits.
