Mason McTavish is drawing attention from around the league, and now Insider Jeff Marek has revealed that he's 'more available than he's ever been' as the 22-year old continues to be at the heart of trade rumours.
The Anaheim Ducks have made some big moves already this off-season, and with the young core aided by veterans like Chris Kreider, Jacob Trouba and Radko Gudas, they're emerging as a dark horse playoff team in the Western Conference.
However, the moves for the team may not be done yet heading into the 2025/26 regular season, as speculation has swirled around one of their most intriguing young talents.
That talent would be Mason McTavish, who is reportedly drawing plenty of trade interest, and after a report that he could be moved before the season, Jeff Marek labelled him as 'more available than he's ever been'.
Obviously, this doesn't mean that McTavish has to be moved before the season, but with Pat Verbeek and the Ducks looking to make a push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, if they don't see McTavish as a long-term 2C, then moving him now may net them a very good return.
The 22-year old was once the No. 3 overall pick for the Ducks, and after 22 goals and 50 points a season ago, he's emerging as a genuine potential star in the NHL, but with the Ducks looking to get more experienced, they could push to acquire a veteran by using the young centre.
Ultimately, all signs right now point to the Ducks moving on from McTavish, and while it's not guaranteed, with the Western Conference being wide open, don't be surprised if he's moved in the next few months.
