
The Nashville Predators’ new General Manager, Chris MacFarland, remains active on the trade front as he acquired forward Nils Hoglander today from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Colorado’s third-round draft pick in 2029. Hoglander in 38 games for Vancouver this season, Hoglander has five points on two goals and three assists.

The Canucks drafted Hoglander 40th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Before joining the Canucks he spent three seasons with Rogle BK in the Swedish Hockey League. In 114 games, he had 44 points on 21 goals and 23 assists; he was a minus-six. He played in the World Juniors Championship for Sweden in 2019-20, where in seven games he had 11 points on five goals and six assists; he was a plus-six.
He spent six seasons with the Canucks, appearing in 331 games. Hoglander had 120 points on 60 goals and 60 assists. He was a plus-ten with two power-play goals and eight game-winning goals. In 11 playoff games, he had a goal and an assist; he was a minus-two. He also appeared in 45 games with their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford back in 2022-23, where he had 32 points on 14 goals and 18 assists. He was a plus-five with six power-play goals and two game-winning goals. In six playoff games, he had three goals and three assists. He was a plus-four with a power-play goal and two game-winning goals.
