Rasmus Andersson appears to be on the move this summer, and now, details have been leaked about what the Flames would have got for him in a trade with Vegas.
The Calgary Flames are seemingly ready to dive head first into their rebuild, and as a result, plenty of veterans could be available via trade for the team during this off-season.
One player that is seemingly already gone is defenseman Rasmus Andersson, who is an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2026, with the Flames ready to trade him this off-season to recoup assets from a contending team.
For a few weeks now, rumours have linked him to the Vegas Golden Knights, with the two sides reportedly engaging in negotiations, but as we know, a deal couldn't be found between them.
Now, a new report has revealed part of the deal that would have gone down, with the Flames seemingly set to take on Nic Hague as a part of the deal, something that Flames fans are certainly happy didn't come to fruition.
Now that Hague has been traded, it's unclear what the next step is to make a deal happen between these two teams, but with Calgary motivated to move Andersson, there's a chance that discussions begin again.
The 28-year old Andersson represents a clear upgrade in the top four for most teams around the league, and given the been controversy around Andersson's willingness to sign an extension, the bridge may have thoroughly burned here.
Ultimately, it appears to be a matter of when, not if Andersson is traded this off-season, whether that be to Vegas or not, but what we now know is that if he is indeed moved to the Golden Knights, the deal will look a little different this time around.
