NHL 4 Nations Final Ticket Prices Soar to Unprecedented Levels
USA TODAY Sports

The NHL hit the jackpot on the 2024 4 Nations Face-Off experiment in both viewership and revenue.

Team USA and Canada will meet in the title game on Thursday, marking the first time that NHL players representing the two nations will battle in championship since the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

As the event has transitioned from Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec to Boston, the American market has seen an unprecedented uptick in ticket prices.

The lowest-priced ticket is currently around $1,200 on reseller TickPick—nearly 450% higher than the original price when the in-season NHL tournament was first unveiled.

But a majority of ticket prices are soaring up into Super Bowl LIX territory, ranging between $2,000 and $4,000.

One ticket reseller said that not only is the 4 Nations final the best-selling game of the NHL season, it has outsold last year's seven-game Stanley Cup Finals series between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers per CNN

These kind of numbers correlate to the success the NHL has struck in viewership. When the United States and Canada faced off in round-robin play last Saturday, the game peaked at 10.1 million viewers, which stamped the highest-viewed non-Stanley Cup Finals hockey game since 2014.

“All eyes are on the USA-Canada showdown in the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship, a game that’s predicted to be emotional, heated and exciting,” Adam Budelli, a spokesperson for StubHub said in a statement on Tuesday. “Fans from both countries are vying for a seat in TD Arena — it’s the best-selling NHL game of the season and has surpassed sales for the reigning NBA Champion Celtics home opener against the Knicks by nearly 50 percent.”
