NHL Analysts Reveal the Key to Tristan Jarry's Stunning Turnaround

Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry has been excellent since being recalled from the American Hockey League, and now the key to his success has been revealed.

Tristan Jarry was having the worst season of his career this year as the Penguins fell into last place in the standings and he was demoted to the AHL.

But now, after several months with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he is back with his regular squad in the NHL.

The 29-year-old looked as good as ever since returning to the league, silencing doubters and inspiring Penguins fans.

In fact, he went undefeated in his first four starts since he rejoined the team, posting a save percentage just shy of .930 in the process.

Now Penguins commentors have been left to analyze what has spurred the sudden turn around in his game.

Nick Belsky believes it is down to two things.

'I think it comes down to two things, confidence, and quick starts. The confidence is key and I think that's the biggest thing here. You can feel how much more comfortable he is in net than he has been in honestly almost two seasons at this point.'

As Belsky's co-host Nick Howat noted, there is not a single position in hockey where confidence is more important than in goal.

However, he also cautioned that Jarry's hot streak could be a short-term thing as he rides the adrenalin rush of being back in the league.

'Confidence is a big key when it comes to this position specifically. But maybe this has some of the effects of adrenalin since he's back in the NHL, he's getting another run at it.'

Even with Jarry and the Penguins hot though, they remain 7 points out from the final playoff position and with just 12 games remaining on their schedule, it certainly feels like their fate for the season has already been decided.

That being said, Jarry performing well is a good sign for next season as he could take his role as starting goaltender back.

If Jarry can return to his prime form for a whole season, who knows what Sidney Crosby and the rest of the team in front of him could be able to pull off.
