We have two early afternoon games on this NHL Saturday, and with the action comes two betting picks.
Let's get right to it. I's almost time for puck drop.
This first game could conceivably be an offensive explosion, with two high-powered offenses coming to town. No team scores more than Florida at home, averaging 5.7 goals per game in its past 10.
Edmonton has been turning it up on the road lately, averaging 4.0 goals per game in its past five.
It's the Panthers who see both more shots against them and more goals lately. In their last five home games, the Panthers are allowing 3.8 goals per game.
It's for that reason I like to hone in on the Oilers, despite losing 6-0 to Florida earlier this season.
Instead of looking at their team total, I'm going to instead focus on their best player to continue building on an impressive streak.
Best Bet: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points (+130 FanDuel)
McDavid has at least two points in five of his last seven games, and three straight on the road.
At plus-money, I like the value for this to continue. McDavid makes this team run, and considering I think Edmonton can score today, the most likely reason why will be McDavid.
The numbers point to Washington goals today, and there's nice value on the Capitals hitting their team total today.
In their past five road games, the Caps are averaging 3.8 goals per game. In the Flyers' last five as host, they're averaging 4.0 goals allowed per game.
These two teams met just 9 days ago, in Philly, and Washington put up five goals.
Their line this afternoon is at just 3.5 total goals, so I'll be loading up the over and rooting for a repeat performance.
Best Bet: Washington over 3.5 total goals in regulation (+115 DraftKings)
