NHL draft pick Roger McQueen chose the greatest jersey number

NHL draft pick Roger McQueen quickly became a sensation due to his name, and he is leaning into it with his choice of jersey number.

McQueen revealed that he chose to wear No. 95 after being drafted by the Anaheim Ducks during Friday’s NHL Draft. That is the same number used by Lightning McQueen from the movie “Cars.”

McQueen is obviously in on the joke. The Ducks’ colors are similar to those used by the movie character, which just makes the reference even better.

A native of Saskatoon, Sk., McQueen has been up for anything since the Ducks drafted him. After selecting him, the Ducks took him to Disneyland, where he actually got to meet the character that was jokingly referred to as his “cousin.”

While it’s hard to envision any dramatic three-wide finishes in McQueen’s future, the Ducks’ marketing department has to be thrilled with him being the team’s top draft pick. If he becomes successful in the NHL, the possibilities are endless.
