The Stanley Cup Playoffs are underway, giving fans one of the more exciting times of the sports calendar. A few series have already started, while others will be kicking off soon.

One of the more intriguing matchups from the playoff bracket this year comes from the Western Conference. The Vegas Golden Knights will be facing off against the Minnesota Wild in the first round, giving fans a rematch from 2021.

The 2021 matchup was a seven-game series, with Vegas advancing past Minnesota. The Golden Knights went up 3-1 in the series before the Wild stormed back, but in the end, Vegas was too strong.

Heading into the series, many insiders have been very adamant about who they think will take the matchup. Multiple insiders from Sportsnet overwhelmingly agreed that the Golden Knights will prevail over the Wild in this series.

Out of 18 insiders making a prediction for the series, only three believe that Minnesota will be the team advancing. That is a large gap between thinking and shows the belief that people have in the Golden Knights.

Part of this belief likely comes from the fact that Vegas swept the season series against the Wild. The Golden Knights also have home ice advantage, and playing in T-Mobile Arena does give them an edge entering any game.

Vegas won the Pacific Division this year, while the Wild snuck into the postseason on its final game of the regular season. The Golden Knights are the favorites entering this series, but as we tend to see each year in the postseason, anything can happen.
