
The NHL community is mourning after the tragic passing of longtime media personality Jessi Pierce and her three young children. The league released an emotional statement, calling the loss devastating and extending condolences to her family.
The league said Pierce was a valued member of NHL.com for a decade.
"The entire National Hockey League family sends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pierce family on the passing of Jessi Pierce, and her three young children," NHL Public Relations posted on X. "Jessi loved our game and was a valued member of the NHL.com team for a decade. We will miss her terribly."

NHL.com editor-in-chief Bill Price also shared a message and said the team was devastated and heartbroken by the loss.
"The entire NHL.com team is devastated and heartbroken by the loss of Jessi and her children," Price said, via NHL.com. “Jessi’s love of her family and hockey was evident in the energy and passion she brought to her work for us. She was an absolute joy to talk to and work with. She will be deeply missed."
Jessi Pierce, 37, died in a house fire at her home. The tragic incident also claimed the lives of her three young children, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery, on Saturday, March 21. Their family dog also died in the accident.
Pierce left behind a legacy built through years of covering hockey at every level. She became a familiar face around the Minnesota hockey scene, especially during her time covering the Wild. Her work combined strong knowledge of the game with a personal and engaging style.
The Minnesota Wild also paid tribute, calling her a kind and compassionate person. The team shared an emotional post on X and said she served as a dedicated ambassador for hockey during her career.
"The Minnesota Wild organization is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Jessi Pierce and her children," the Wild wrote on X. "Jessi was a kind, compassionate person that cared deeply about her family and those around her... Jessi and her children will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to their family, friends, and all who knew and loved them."

Pierce’s journey in hockey media included work with several outlets like NHL.com, The Athletic, and her role as co-host of the “Bardown Beauties” podcast. She often shared her path to becoming an NHL writer, a dream she chased from a young age.
