NHL legends and former Canuck Alexander Mogilny and former Oiler Duncan Keith have just found out they've been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The Hockey Hall of Fame announced its class of eight new members for 2025: Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Duncan Keith, Alexander Mogilny, Jennifer Botterill, Brianna Decker, Jack Parker, and Daniele Sauvageau.

The official ceremony will be held in November later this year

The induction ceremony will take place on November 10. All three of them, Thornton, Chara, and Keith, were first-year eligible.

Six-time NHL All-Star Thornton won the Hart Trophy in 2006 after a season divided between Boston and San Jose, the first to ever win the award playing for two different teams in the same season. Thornton played in 1,714 NHL games and won Olympic gold with Canada in 2010.

The 6-foot-9 blueliner Chara played 1,680 games and took home the Norris Trophy in 2009. He won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011 and represented Slovakia in three Olympic Games.

Keith earned three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks and two Norris Trophies. He appeared in 1,256 games and retired with the Oilers and earned two Olympic gold medals with Canada.

Soviet Union defector and NHL player Mogilny tallied 1,032 points in 990 games and led the Devils to victory in the Stanley Cup in 2000.

He also spent several seasons playing for the Canucks. His induction finally brings an end to a lengthy wait.

In terms of women, Botterill and Decker were chosen based on successful international careers. Botterill is a three-time Olympic gold medal winner and also a hockey analyst.

Decker received the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Award and captained Team USA to gold medal wins in the 2018 Olympics and six world championships.

Also joining the class are coaching legends Daniele Sauvageau and Jack Parker, both of whom have long been committed to the sport.
