With the Dallas Stars’ 2-1 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 6 of their second-round playoff series, the Edmonton Oilers now know who their opponent will be in the Western Conference final.
Edmonton reeled off four straight wins to dispose of the Los Angeles Kings in Round 1, and it ran through the Vegas Golden Knights in five games in the second round to reach its third conference final in four years.
Conversely, Dallas went toe-to-toe with the Colorado Avalanche for seven games in Round 1, and it eliminated Winnipeg, which won the Presidents’ Trophy as the best regular-season team in the NHL, in six games to reach its third straight conference final.
Not long after the Stars’ Game 6 win on Saturday, the NHL released the schedule for their ECF series against the Oilers. Dallas has three days of rest to prepare for Connor McDavid and company.
The Oilers haven’t played since May 14, and they will have had a full week off heading into Game 1 against the Stars. The full series schedule is below.
