NHL Officially Announces Date for Next Season's Schedule Release

While we have to wait until July 16 for the full schedule, there are already quite a few games locked in for the upcoming season.

The Winter Classic and Stadium Series will be played in the state of Florida

The annual Winter Classic will once again be front and center, which will be played between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers at LoanDepot Park in Miami on Jan. 2, 2026. Yes, you heard that right, Miami, Florida. The Sunshine State.

Additionally, another outdoor game is scheduled for Feb 1, 2026, as part of the NHL Stadium Series. That one will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning. Yes, once again in Florida.

The NHL also announced a two-game series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators in Stockholm, Sweden, next season as well, marking another European return for the league.

Those overseas games in Sweden will be played on Nov. 14 and Nov. 16, 2025, which is a little over a month after the start of the 2025-26 season. The league usually enjoys going to Europe in November of every season.

Avicii Arena in Stockholm will set the stage for the Penguins and Predators, marking Sidney Crosby's first regular-season games in Sweden since way back in 2008.

Also, other Swedish stars Erik Karlsson, Rickard Rakell, and Filip Forsberg are currently lined up to play in those games alongside Crosby as well.
