NHL Predictions: Carolina Hurricanes at Vancouver Canucks

2025-2026 Season Series: Carolina 1-0 Vancouver

Time: 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) | 7:00 p.m. Pacific

How to Watch: Sportsnet+, SN, TVAS, FDSNSO, ESPN+, NHL Centre Ice

Location: Rogers Arena in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Vancouver Canucks will play their final game before the NHL Trade Deadline against the Eastern Conference-leading Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina sits at 38-16-6 after 60 games, with 82 points, while Vancouver sits at 18-35-7 after 60 games, with 43 points. Moreover, this will be the second and final meeting between these two teams. Carolina won the previous meeting, 4-3 in overtime, on November 14th at home.

The Hurricanes Story

It’s really the same-old, same-old, with the Hurricanes. Year after year, they are one of the juggernauts of the league, with a great, balanced team. Although they do not have any players who are scoring at a point-per-game rate, their talent lies throughout the lineup. A big reason why they’ve had success this year is the performance of their goaltender, Brandon Bussi. The 27-year-old is playing in just his first NHL season and has a 24-3-1 record, earning him a solid contract extension.

The Canucks Story

As we have mentioned, this week could be one of the most critical weeks for this franchise. The NHL Trade Deadline on Friday could be a pivotal moment in the Canucks’ rebuild.

On the ice, the product has been abysmal to say the least. Vancouver has only won two games in 2026 out of twenty-one games played, good for less than ten percent of a win rate. If this keeps up, the Canucks are on pace to finish with likely fewer than ten of the remaining 44 points up for grabs, which would put them in the top-five worst seasons in terms of points.

Starting Goalies

Below are the projected starters for tonight’s game. Please check social media for the most updated information before locking in your daily fantasy lineups.

The aforementioned Brandon Bussi should get the start for Carolina. In 28 games this season, he has a 24-3-1 record, a 2.23 goals-against average, and a .906 save percentage. Impressive numbers all around.

For Vancouver, Kevin Lankinen should get the start. Just like the rest of his team, he has a rough go of it. He has a 7-20-4 record, a 3.69 goals-against average, and an .874 save percentage in 33 games this season.

Prediction and Best Bets

The Canucks are bummed out, lacking motivation, and the trade deadline rumours are definitely not helping. The Hurricanes should be able to take advantage of that and dominate play for most of this game.

Prediction: Hurricanes win 5-2.

Best Bets

To wrap things up, here are our anytime goal scorer picks. For Carolina, we will pick leading point-getter Sebastian Aho to score a goal. On the Vancouver side, we will pick the surprising goal leader in Drew O’Connor to pot one.
