The NHL have come to terms on a new CBA with the NHLPA through 2029/30, and now, they've released the full details of new rules that were agreed upon.

Despite the fact that the current NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement doesn't expire until the end of the 2025/26 season, the league have now officially come to an agreement on an extension, taking them through to the end of the 2029/30 campaign and avoiding any potential lockout.

Unsurprisingly, Gary Bettman is very proud of the work that he and the head of the NHLPA Marty Walsh did in bringing this together, noting that the relationship has never been stronger.

'The partnership between the Players' Association and the League is stronger than it ever has been and working together under this agreement presents a fantastic opportunity to continue to grow the game.

We are grateful to the Board of Governors for its support of this agreement that strengthens our game and ensures we are collectively delivering a great fan experience in the years to come.'

On top of that, a full list of the new rules in the CBA have been released, covering such things as maximum term on new contracts, the eligibility of 19-year old CHL players in the AHL, post-season salary cap, the improvement of league minimum salaries, the 84 game schedule and many, many more.

Reading through them, it's clear that this CBA is going to be a good thing for both the league and the players, with a rising salary cap and stability through the next six years showing just how healthy the league currently is.

Sure, not every rule may be a hit, but for the most part, the NHL continues to move in a very positive direction, and if this continues, the business of the National Hockey League will continue to grow and grow.
