There is a lot of drama coming out of Vancouver with the Canucks and J.T. Miller. The rumors are picking up as some NHL teams are calling the Canucks about Miller. It seems that things are coming to a head, and a resolution could be coming soon involving J.T. Miller.
There were several reports linking Miller to the New Jersey Devils. However, those reports were just smoke, as the Devils have not even asked the Canucks permission to trade for him. Nor do the Devils have an interest in trading for him.
As Full Press Hockey has documented, Vancouver is taking calls not only on Miller but also on Elias Pettersson. However, it seems that Pettersson wants to stay in Vancouver as the Canucks look to move Miller before the Four Nations Faceoff.
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Hockey Night in Canada’s Saturday Headlines stated a trade fell apart between the New York Rangers and J.T. Miller.
J.T. Miller, I expect, is going to play tonight, unless something changes at the last minute. But there was a time over the last 24 hours where J.T. Miller was not going to play. He was going to be held out of the lineup because talks were progressing on a trade. I believe that team to be with the New York Rangers. Now, I don’t know exactly what happened, but that trade is off right now, so there’s nothing close that would prevent Miller from playing. But it seems that things had progressed to a certain point where it definitely looked like he wasn’t going to play. – Full Press Hockey Transcriptions
However, the Canucks do not want a Brady Tkachuk situation in Ottawa, where the Senators had to ask the league about tampering with their players when they were not available for trade. Vancouver wants teams interested in Miller to reach out to them. Friedman believed teams have reached out to the Canucks to talk to Miller.
Dave Pagnotts of the Fourth Period confirmed Full Press Hockey’s report that the Devils had not contacted the Canucks about Miller. Despite all the rumors flying around the NHL this silly season.
Let this end the nonsense.
As stated yesterday and today J.T. Miller are not going to the Devils and are not one of the teams whom reached out to the Canucks.

Over the last couple of days, we have seen Miller’s name surfaced in trade talks. Rick Dhaliwal reported that things were picking up over the last 48 hours.
JT Miller has not been asked to waive his no trade clause yet but there seems to be a lot activity around Miller today.
Some think the Canucks are working hard on this.

However, Miller has yet to ask his agent for a trade request.
Canucks are trying to move Miller but Miller’s agent Brian Bartlett tells me his client never went to the team and requested or demanded a trade.

If you have been following this saga, you know the Canucks want to change their mix. The drama in the locker room is so tense you can cut it with a knife. As Full Press NHL Weekly Rumors Podcast has reported, the expectation is the Canucks will trade Miller over Pettersson. The two teams at the head of the line for Miller are the Rangers and Boston Bruins.
While J.T. Miller played Saturday night, the Canucks have a couple of days before they play again. There is an expectation, according to RG Media, that one, the salary cap will go up, and two, action will heat up heading into the Four Nations Faceoff. Expect a resolution in the near future.
