Colton Parayko is open to a trade, but to stay in the West

Frank Seravalli: Colton Parayko would prefer to remain with the St. Louis Blues, but is open to the idea of a trade to certain organizations. Will another team be willing to pay the price that the Buffalo Sabres were believed to be offering? (first-round pick and Radim Mrtka)

Kevin Weekes: Have been told that Colton Parayko’s preference would be to remain in the West if he’s going to be traded. He’d be open to the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and a few others.

David Pagnotta: Mentioned on "DFO Live" that the Ducks have been looking at the blue line market. Parayko would be a nice fit there.

Marco D’Amico: “If Anaheim is involved in Colton Parayko trade talks, I wonder about Pavel Mintyukov. He’s wanted a larger role in Anaheim and is set to be an RFA.”

Ottawa Senators GM Steve Staios, a day before the trade deadline

The Sheet with Jeff Marek: Ottawa Senators GM Steve Staios the day before the trade deadline.

“It’s been busy. Yeah, we, we like to stay involved. I think we’re pretty open to ideas. We’re in a unique position. We really like our team. We think we’ve played very well. We think we’re capable of being a playoff team.

"We’ve had some adversity to deal with, like every team does, so there’s no excuses. But at this point in time, typically, when you look at where you are in the standings, you’d say that, OK, well, maybe it’s better to prepare for next season, but that hasn’t been my approach. I’m looking for every opportunity to try and help this team with anything I can do.

"Now, I find that some, there’s some situations where you can force things. I don’t believe that that’s not really in my makeup. If the market doesn’t dictate it, we like the team the way that it is right now, and we got an exceptional core group of young players that continue to get better."
