We have a few NHL games that stick out for goals today, so let's get right to the spots on this Saturday.
I do really like Colorado's spot in this 1 p.m. game today, but I do not love their odds. Currently on DraftKings, their team total over is 3.5 at -155 (excluding OT). While I think they get there, that is not a bet I want to make straight.
Let's get to the games I do like today. I'm not going to pick out a favorite goal-scorer, only team totals for me today.
I think the Kings are in a fantastic spot today for some goal-scoring, going against Arizona.
The Coyotes get peppered by shots on a nightly basis, which always ups the chances of more going in. In their past ten, they are seeing 37.2 against them at home.
Los Angeles is averaging 3.8 goals per game in their last five on the road, while Arizona is allowing 3.2 goals at home in their past ten.
This is a bet on volume and shots. The Kings seem to operate at a higher volume when they're on road ice, so I like them to keep that up tonight.
Best Bet: Over 3.5 goals, excluding OT (+120 DK)
The only other spots truly speaking to me today are in favor of Vancouver and Calgary.
I am combining them into this parlay at a lower total, because it is not a complete overlap of strong metrics, just one really great one.
Let's talk about each.
The Canucks get the Anaheim Ducks tonight, who have been getting torched lately. Anaheim is seeing nearly 40 shots against them in their last ten road games, and allowing 4.0 goals per game in their last ten and their last five, both of which are fourth most in the league.
The Canucks have 3+ goals in six of their last eight games, averaging 3.0 at home in their past five. I think given this opponent, they can reach the over here at 2.5.
Few teams are playing better than the Flames lately, winners of eight straight. Calgary is averaging 5.6 goals per game at home in their last five, which is second-most in the league.
That is awesome, and enough to consider them at 3.5 here.
On the season, Seattle has let in a lot of goals, but they've been a lot tighter on the road, allowing just 3.0 in their last ten games.
I am opting for a bit of insurance here and betting Calgary to need just 3.
Good luck tonight!
