NHL Saturday bets: Two overs to target

It's a loaded NHL slate on this Saturday, and two games in particular have popped off the page for potential goal-scoring.

Let's get right to the spots.

New Jersey-Edmonton over 6.5 goals (-120 FD)

This is the clearest sign of the day of goals coming, so consider placing a few standalone goal bets on either the New Jersey or Edmonton side.

The Devils are averaging four goals per game in their last 10 on the road, while the Oilers are letting up 3.4 in the same span at home.

The Oilers should bring the juice here, averaging 4.6 goals scored per game at home in their last five while, the Devils are giving up 5.4 goals per game in their past five away tilts.

It's just a real solid intersection, so I'm not going to overthink it. When these teams last met, they combined for 11 goals.

My favorites to score are Jack Hughes and Connor McDavid, both have been rolling all season. A SGP of the two could be an interesting idea (or any players who stick out to you).

Ottawa-Montreal over 6 goals (-105 DK)

Regular readers may be rolling their eyes at seeing Ottawa here once again, but the Senators remain a metric darling in my research process.

Ottawa on an expected goals for basis remains due for more goals scored, and Montreal is a great target for scoring (3.6 goals allowed at home last ten games).

The Senators also own a significant power-play edge and scored a PP goal against the Canadiens when they last met.

I think Montreal should be able to contribute today as well. They've been picking it up recently, averaging 3.6 goals per game in their last five home games, and the Senators have given up 3.8 goals per game on the road in their past five.

Back to xGF and xGA. This is the lone game of the day where both teams averages for these metrics are all over 3.0.

Three has been a target for me, so to see that both teams should be scoring 3+ goals and allowing 3+ goals is enough for me to bet on the game reaching six total scores.

With two poor penalty kills, I could foresee this game getting sloppy.

Yes, these teams had a 2-1 game a few weeks ago, but I'm trusting in these recent numbers and loading up a reasonable over/under.

Good luck today!
