NHL Saturday prop bets: Getting pucks on net

I'll level with you, it's been a slightly down week on the ice. The good news is that Saturday and Sunday have been treating us well over the past few weeks, so we'll keep things moving as normal and trust the breaks are coming our way.

For NHL Saturday, I'm looking at four guys to get their shots off, all found at solid odds worth playing straight.

Roope Hintz over 2.5 SOG (+116 FD)

Hintz has picked up his shots the past few games, going for 3+ in three straight, all at home. Hintz and the Stars will host a Detroit team allowing 33.4 shots per game on the road, so I'm certainly drawn to finding a Dallas shooter.

The Red Wings have been tight to power plays allowed, which has me a bit lower on guys like Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski, as both's shots have largely hinged on power play chances.

Hintz has loved facing Detroit, going over 2.5 SOG in both meetings last year and four of his last five against them dating back to last April.

I'll grab him here at plus money, please and thank you.

Jake Guentzel over 3.5 SOG (+104 FD)

Guentzel and the Penguins are facing Buffalo for the second straight night, with the locations now swapped. At home, Pittsburgh should have no issues finding shots, as they average 38.3 shots per game and the Sabres allow 33.7 per game on the road.

Guentzel finished with four shots on net last night, marking the fourth time in five games that he's covered his shots on goal prop.

The volume is way up in this stretch as you might presume, notching 7+ attempts in four straight.

I also like that Guentzel was on the receiving end of a dirty crosscheck to the face courtesy of Jeff Skinner last night. I expect him to pour on the shots as the Pittsburgh looks to win both against Buffalo.

Guentzel has 4+ shots in three of his last four against the Sabres, scoring three times.

.5u: Guentzel goal (+117 CZR)

Viktor Arvidsson over 2.5 SOG (-101 CZR)

Viktor Arvidsson has loved facing Montreal. In 11 career games, he's gone for three or more shots on goal 10 times. I'll gladly load up that career hit-rate at nearly even money any day of the week, especially when it's against a team like the Habs, who allow 31.4 shots per game at home.

Arvidsson has turned it on lately, piling up 14 SOG over his last three games. I'll bet he carries over that volume tonight against a team he's had great success against.

Arvidsson also scored twice two games ago and has a goal in three of his last four against Montreal.

.5u: Arvidsson goal (+240 CZR)

Kirill Kaprizov over 3.5 SOG (-125 CZR)

We'll wrap the day's looks with Kirill Kaprizov against Vancouver. The Canucks are a fine shot target, and Kaprizov is rolling.

He's notched 4+ SOG in seven of his last nine games and has 11 SOG in his past two on the road. He's had nice success against the Canucks, going over 3.5 shots in all four meetings with them, scoring three times.

He had 7 SOG back in October against them, so in a game I like to go over, I'll bet on Kaprizov helping lead the offensive charge.
