NHL Source Reveals Exact Price Kent Hughes Must Pay to Acquire Dylan Cozens

We have an update on the trade situation involving young forward Dylan Cozens.

As a reminder, in the past few hours, the well-respected Kevin Weekes (NHL Network) reported that the Canadiens are involved in the race to complete a trade for the young Cozens.

As you can imagine, this has sparked quite a bit of discussion in Montreal!

In the last few minutes, a very interesting new piece of information has emerged, as we have just learned exactly what the Buffalo Sabres are asking in return for Cozens.

According to information from the website RG.org, general manager Kevyn Adams (BUF) is asking for a comparable center, along with a right-handed defenseman or an NHL-ready prospect.

"According to a source close to the Sabres, the club is looking for a comparable center, a top-four right-handed defenseman, or an elite NHL prospect ready to step in immediately."

Interesting! This immediately brings to mind names like Logan Mailloux, Kirby Dach, and possibly even Owen Beck.

Cozens, 23, is a 6-foot-3, 207-pound center.

He has accumulated 192 points in 333 career NHL games, including 76 goals, and has recorded 26 points in 53 games this season (he had 68 points and 31 goals during the 2022-23 campaign).

Dach, 24, is a 6-foot-4, 221-pound center.

He has accumulated 121 points in 266 career NHL games, including 43 goals, and has recorded 22 points in 54 games this season (he had 38 points in 58 games during the 2022-23 campaign).
