NHL Sunday Bets: Four props for the day

We've made it to the end of another week in the NHL, and it's been a good one here on Yardbarker. Let's wrap the week in style with a few prop winners.

It's a good-looking slate, and I've picked out four that rise above the rest. All four of these are Shots on Goal (SOG) props.

Jake Guentzel over 3.5 SOG (+135 DK)

Truly the only reason to consider not placing this bet is because these odds seem too good to be true.

Guentzel and the Penguins get a Detroit Red Wings team that has been seeing a steep uptick in shots against them lately. On the road, that number is 35.1 and 37.2 shots allowed per game in their last 10 and five, respectively.

With Detroit on a back-to-back and letting up so many shots, you can look throughout the Pittsburgh lineup for a good bet.

I can't ignore these odds for Guentzel. At home, Guentzel has gone over in eight of his last 12, and four of his last six overall. He had five SOG against the Red Wings when they last met, I'm rolling with this plus-money play on DraftKings.

Matt Duchene over 2.5 SOG (-115 DK)

On Sunday night, Duchene gets the Flyers, who have allowed 33.3 shots per game in their last 10 on the road.

I prefer Duchene on the Nashville side, as he has been steady with shots when playing at home. Duchene has gone over 2.5 in 14 of his last 19 at home and 66% on the season.

With that proven production, decent odds and a great opponent, I'm loading up Duchene.

Josh Morrissey over 2.5 SOG (+120 DK)

Betting defensemen shots against Arizona is always a bet worth considering, and on Sunday we'll be following that path with Josh Morrissey of the Winnipeg Jets.

Since the All-Star break, no team sees more shots per game to defensemen than Arizona does, and Morrissey has been rolling with his shots, making this a terrific option on Sunday.

Morrissey has covered his prop in seven of his last nine games, and Arizona is allowing 35.5 total shots per game in its past 10 on the road.

Plenty to like here, and we get it at +120? Sign me up.

Jack Hughes over 3.5 SOG (-115 DK)

Hughes is averaging 6.9 shot attempts per game in his past 10, bringing tremendous volume to the plate Sunday night against Montreal.

The Canadiens are another team coming off a back-to-back and already a good shot target. In their last 10 games on the road, the Habs have allowed 35.4 shots per game.

Hughes has hit his SOG in three straight home games, and I like that to continue here in an advantageous spot.

Best of luck Sunday in the NHL!
