NHL Sunday bets: Prop targets to start the day

We had ourselves a fantastic Saturday of NHL betting, so let's keep that momentum rolling to finish the week.

As of this writing, there are only a few props up for the six games on Sunday, but there's still value on the board.

Here are three prop spots, mostly shots on goal (SOG) looks, and one parlay.

Parlay: Aleksander Barkov over 2.5 SOG and Tage Thompson point (+167 DK)

Florida is in a great spot for shots Sunday, but many of the big names on the Panthers are quieter on the road.

One who maintains a solid hit-rate is Aleksander Barkov, and he's in a good spot against a Detroit team allowing the fourth-most shots to centers since March 1.

Barkov has hit his SOG in four of his last six on the road, and his attempts remain solid, averaging 5.4 in his last five.

Detroit sees 35 shots per game at home in its last 10.

We'll pair Barkov with a Tage Thompson point.

Thompson once again plays the Flyers, a team he's had success against this season (four points in two games).

The Flyers allowing 4.0 goals per game in their last five home games and have been most vulnerable to shots from the center position. If Tage can get involved with pucks on net, the points can follow.

Thompson has 1+ point in eight of his last nine games.

David Perron over 2.5 SOG (-125 DK)

This is a good game for shots on both ends, so we'll start with the Blues shooters.

I like David Perron for the same reason we typically pick a guy against Nashville: power-play shooting.

The Predators are averaging the second-most penalties per game in their last 10, and Perron leads St. Louis in power-play shots. This is just like Patrick Kane on Saturday. We're looking for a guy who can capitalize on the breadth of opportunity that is sure to present itself.

Perron has hit his SOG in three of five and had seven on net when he last played Nashville.

Roman Josi over 3.5 SOG (+120 DK)

I'm going right back to Roman Josi, who is just rolling with shots right now.

Josi has now covered his SOG prop in three of four and operating at a high volume. This is a massive game for Nashville, so I expect them to play with a sense of urgency that will behoove a player like Josi.

The Blues are allowing the 13th-most shots per game to defensemen since March 1, and have been getting pummeled with shots lately on the road.

Their last 10 average is a respectable 32.2, but it skyrockets to 37.2 in their past five.

Give me Josi at plus-money to come through again. He had four shots when these teams most recently met.

I have my eyes on more players, but their props are just not up yet. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, @griffybets, for more action Sunday.

Good luck on this Sunday in the NHL, let's finish the week strong with some winning bets!
