NHL Thursday bets: Loaded slate brings seven prop targets

For those that came here for picks Wednesday, you left with some profit as our identified spots went 3-2. It's been another good week here for NHL prop bets, and we should go ahead and keep it rolling.

There are 10 games Thursday night, and a lot of nice value on the board. As such, this has a few more picks than normal: seven in fact.

All of these are Shots on Goal (SOG) props, so buckle up and let's dig in.

Josh Norris over 2.5 SOG (-120 DK)

We start with a familiar face in Josh Norris, who has been absolutely rolling. Norris has now covered his SOG in five straight games, and as we remark every time, the return of Drake Batherson has clearly played a factor here.

In the five games with Ottawa's top line back together, Norris is averaging 7.2 shot attempts per game, nearly three more than either Batherson or Brady Tkachuk.

We get another good price on Norris, and he'll face a Nashville team allowing 33.9 shots per game on the road in their last 10 and 36.4 in their past five.

Jacob Trouba over 2.5 SOG (+105 DK)

Yes, we are going back to our cash king from last week despite him breaking our hearts on Tuesday.

If there's one thing I've learned from NHL prop betting, it's to trust a bounce-back performance.

Trouba will face Pittsburgh Thursday, a team that allows the 10th most shots to defensemen since the All-Star break. Not just that, but Trouba has had proven success against the Penguins, going over this 2.5 line in all three previous meetings this season.

I will go down with the Trouba ship if I have to, but he deserves another chance from us, and the situation is favorable.

Ivan Provorov over 2.5 SOG (+135 DK)

Is this the same article as Tuesday? Would that be so bad, considering we went 4-1 ?

Ivan Provorov is our third straight familiar face, but he's rolling, and we don't ignore that, especially at this awesome price.

Provorov has covered his SOG prop in seven of his past 10 games, and has blown by this number lately. He has 5+ SOG in three of his past four, including 6 against the very Columbus team he gets Thursday.

The Blue Jackets are allowing 33.3 shots per game at home in their past 10 and the second-most shots per game to defensemen since the All-Star break.

Zach Werenski over 3.5 SOG (+125 DK)

We stick with defensemen in this game and load up Zach Werenski, who also hit when these two teams met on Tuesday.

Werenski has been solid at home, covering his SOG prop in eight of his last 11 games, including three straight.

Werenski also has 10 SOG in two games vs Philly.

The Flyers are allowing 37.1 shots per game on the road in their last 10 (second-most), and allow the 12th most shots to defensemen.

Nico Hischier over 2.5 SOG (+110 DK)

When looking at Devils props, it's important to note that Jack Hughes is out for the season after getting injured on Sunday.

Hischier stands to benefit the most, moving up to top-line center, and he's already started taking advantage, going over his SOG in two straight with nine shots on net in that stretch.

I like his involvement to continue against a Montreal team allowing 34.7 shots per game in their last ten road games (38.6 in their past five). The Canadiens are also generous to center shots, allowing the fifth-most since the All-Star break.

Tyler Seguin over 2.5 SOG (-105 DK)

We're going back to Seguin against a Toronto team allowing 33.6 shots per game in their last ten on the road.

Seguin is rolling at home, covering his SOG prop in four straight and six of seven. He also had four vs. Toronto when they last met.

Sometimes the analysis really is just that simple.

Tanner Pearson over 2.5 SOG (+150 DK)

We end with one of my favorites of the night (get back to me Friday on whether it still is my favorite).

My definition of favorite here is a potential diamond in the rough. +150 for a guy facing Arizona is always going to catch your eye, this seems like great value.

Arizona is allowing the most shots per game at home: 40.5 in their last 10 and 42.4 in their last five.

Pearson has gone over this 2.5 line in three of four and two straight on the road. What I really like is he has attempt totals of eight, six and seven in this recent four-game stretch.

Brock Boeser is out for Vancouver, a big part of their offense. In the seven games without Boeser this season, Pearson is averaging 3.71 SOG per game.

As I said, I love the value.

Best of luck Thursday night! It's a big slate, and there's plenty to like. Follow the picks that resonate with you the most and let's cash some more hockey bets.
