NHL Tuesday bets: Goal-scorer parlay

Three straight days that all of our identified players recorded a point, so we continue to circle the right spots here.

Tuesday is a great night to go ahead and cash us a goal-scorer parlay, and the NHL is jam-packed with games.

We've sifted through the 11 game slate and found us our three favorite goal-scorers. At time of publish, the parlay odds are +2104 on FanDuel.

Mika Zibanejad

Zibanejad has been a trusty addition to many goal-scorer parlays this season, including on Friday against the Devils, a game he scored in.

Zibanejad comes into this one on a two-game goal-scoring streak, and has been particularly strong on the road, with six goals in his past nine games while averaging 7.33 shot attempts per game in his last three.

Minnesota has been struggling to stop scoring lately, and being at home is no exception.

The Wild come into this one allowing 3.9 goals per game in their past ten at home and 4.6 in their past five.

These numbers aren't just some unlucky pile up, either. Minnesota ranks first in the NHL in expected goals against in its past five games (4.34), which tells us that yes, this team is deservedly being scored on every night.

It hasn't helped that the Wild are averaging plenty of penalties and severely struggling on the penalty kill, which gets the Rangers squarely on our radar.

In their last 25 games, the Rangers rank first in expected goals per game on the power play, fifth in actual goals scored, first in Corsi For and third in High Danger Corsi For.

All of that is to say: the Rangers have an elite power play unit with a significant advantage over Minnesota's penalty killing efforts.

Zibanejad headlines that top PP line, an added layer that makes him so appealing tonight.

Tyler Bertuzzi

We go back to another familiar face in Tyler Bertuzzi, who has thrived when playing at home this season.

Bertuzzi has a goal in 9 of his last 15 home games, though is currently on a three-game skid in the scoring department when in Detroit.

Bertuzzi finally got off the schneid in Detroit's last game on the road, so the hope here is that the positive regression continues for Bertuzzi's goal-scoring.

The Red Wings are averaging 4.0 goals per game in their last five at home, which is second-most in the league. On the other end is an Arizona team seeing 4.4 goals scored against in its past five road games.

Add on a weak Coyotes PK unit, which always help bring some comfort to our picks, and I see plenty of Detroit chances tonight.

Best goal odds: +172 FD

Vladimir Tarasenko

There's plenty to like from the St. Louis side in this one. Let's first address the recent slide the Blues find themselves on, losing three straight and reaching three total goals only once.

The optimism comes from them returning home, where they haven't been since Feb. 25 (a 5-3 win over Buffalo).

In their past five home games, St. Louis is averaging 4.0 goals per game, and Ottawa is allowing 3.8 on the road in the same time parameters.

The Senators are further put onto our radar of targets because of their expected goals against and their poor penalty kill.

I won't touch on penalty kill data much more than I already have, but given that they rank near the bottom of many of the more important metrics in that regard, I wouldn't be surprised to see a St. Louis goal on the power play tonight.

In the last five games, Ottawa ranks second in the NHL in expected goals against, and it also tends to see more shots against on the road, giving the Blues the volume opportunities we need for a goal.

That's a whole lot of words without mentioning our final leg, but the context feels important.

The chosen one for our Blues night is Vladimir Tarasenko, who has owned the Senators of late, scoring eight goals in his past eight games against them.

Tarasenko hasn't scored in five straight games, but he, like the Blues, are better at home. When looking at his home production, Tarasenko has five goals in his last eight.

He's also on the top PP line for the aforementioned advantage, so we load him up to bring us home.
