NHL Wednesday bets: Canadiens-Canucks same game parlay

It's the last day of the seven-day lotto ticket challenge I put on myself. One more night to make something of the week here. It would be fantastic for us to go out with a win, and this Wednesday in the NHL holds some goal-scoring value.

There are only two games tonight, which makes constructing a three-leg parlay difficult. Instead of including a goal-scorer in the Washington-Edmonton game, I am instead putting all of my eggs into the Montreal-Vancouver basket.

The approach here is a Same Game parlay of three goal scorers from this game. I see goal-scoring value on both ends tonight. I will highlight why I like each team to score goals, and then who from each team is included in the SGP.

SGPs in the NHL are only available on DraftKings, so that's where this +2500 ticket is loaded up.

Let's get to it.

Montreal Canadiens

Montreal has quietly picked up the scoring pace lately, averaging 3.6 goals per game on the road in their past five games, the tenth-highest mark in the NHL.

On an expected goals per game basis, their scoring should maintain at around the 3.0 mark, making them a fine target this evening.

It's their opponent that really draws me into the Montreal side. Vancouver has allowed 3.6 goals per game in their last five home games and is seeing a steady stream of shots against them.

What sticks out to me is the Canucks penalty kill, which is just atrocious by most advanced statistics.

Whether it's expected goals against, actual goals against, Corsi Against, or High Danger Corsi Against, this Vancouver PK is a bottom-seven unit in the NHL.

With that in tow, we load up two members of the Canadiens top power play line (and first line), to net one.

Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki are the men for the task, bringing us terrific +260 value each on DraftKings.

Vancouver has been generous to scoring from the left wing and center positions, which is where our golden geese preside.

Caufield has a goal in five of his last 10 games, while Suzuki has scored in back-to-back games.

Both of these skaters scored in the same game against Edmonton on Saturday, proving that they can do it together. This is a similar situation, as Edmonton also has a poor penalty kill, and Montreal took advantage with two power play goals.

Here's to doing it again.

Goal-scoring options: Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki

Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver has been scoring plenty lately, and at home, they've averaged 4.4 goals per game in their past five.

Montreal has been one of the most vulnerable teams to scoring all season, allowing four goals per game in their past 10 on the road.

There's a lot to like, but what sticks out to me is how many goals the Canadiens allow to the center position.

Sure, you could go with J.T. Miller, but I'm far more drawn to Elias Pettersson, who centers the second line and is on the top power play line.

Pettersson has been rolling at home, with six goals in his last seven games. His shot attempts see a drastic jump when playing in Vancouver as well, and with four power play points in his past three at home, he seems well-equipped to capitalize on what is an equally weak penalty kill unit in Montreal.

Goal-scoring option: Elias Petterson

We're mixing it up to wrap this seven-day challenge. What do we have to lose? I like all of the above, and think this game offers solid scoring trends that you can apply to standalone points props, the over, and more.

This SGP is +2500 on DK. Good luck tonight!
