Former Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Nicolas Hague now knows where he will be playing for the foreseeable future.

According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, Hague has been traded to the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Jeremy Lauzon and forward Colton Sissons.

It is also reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman that Hague is signing a four-year extension with Nashville for $5.5 million annually.

Hague scored five goals and 12 points in 77 games with the Golden Knights last season, and added two points in 11 postseason games. Drafted 34th overall by the Golden Knights in their inaugural season in 2017, Hague played 364 games for Vegas, scoring 20 goals and 83 points.

Lauzon and Sissons will bring experience and grit to the Vegas lineup.

Neither provided much in the way of offense last season, scoring a combined seven goals and 22 points last season. However, both crossed the 100-hit mark with the Predators in 2024-25, and Lauzon has gone over 200 hits in the previous three seasons. With Hague out and current fourth-line center Nicolas Roy potentially going to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a sign-and-trade for forward Mitch Marner, Lauzon and Sissons should provide immediate replacements in head coach Bruce Cassidy’s lineup.

The first domino of what is shaping up to be an exciting July for the Golden Knights has finally fallen.
