Nolan Allan was sent to the Rockford IceHogs on Feb. 28 and defenseman Wyatt Kaiser and forward Andreas Athanasiou were called up. Allan played 43 games and scored one goal and eight points with the Hawks. The young defenseman's last game was on Feb. 25 against the Utah Hockey Club.

Nolan Allan has been assigned to AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.
Replacing Allan in the lineup is Wyatt Kaiser, who's been called up and down a few times this season. Kaiser's last game with the Blackhawks was against the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 20, He was sent down to Rockford on Jan. 23. Kaiser hasn't been great in Rockford. He's posted two points since Jan. 25 and has three points in 17 games.
Andreas Athanasiou will provide depth at center. Playing Athanasiou with Lukas Reichel might be something worth watching, although I wouldn't expect the two to have the same chemistry they had a couple of seasons ago. Athanasiou last played with the Blackhawks on Oct. 22 and posted zero points in five games. In Rockford, Athanasiou has 16 points in 16 games.
If you're wondering why he only has 16 games, Athanasiou did deal with an injury and the IceHogs have to work around the AHL's "veteran rule" where they can't have more than five veterans dressed on their roster.
The Blackhawks take on the Anaheim Ducks on Mar. 1 at 5 pm CT.
