Some reinforcements are returning for one of the surging teams in the Western Conference.
On Tuesday, the Edmonton Oilers announced that goaltender Tristan Jarry and defenseman Jake Walman have been activated off long-term injured reserve.
In a corresponding move, the team has moved forward Adam Henrique from injured reserve to LTIR.

Jarry has been out of action for close to a month after suffering an injury against the Boston Bruins on Dec. 18. He was the big piece Edmonton acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier in the month, with the Oilers trading longtime netminder Stuart Skinner to the Penguins.
Jarry had been solid in his first few games with his new team, going 3-0 with a 3.06 goals-against average and a .887 save percentage. Overall, the 30-year-old hasa record of 12-3-1, with a 2.73 GAA, a .906 SV% and one shutout.
Walman has been on the shelf since November with an undisclosed injury. It has been a tough season for the Toronto native, as he missed the first couple of weeks of the 2025-26 season due to another ailment. He has ended up playing just 17 games thus far, scoring three goals and seven assists for 10 points. The 29-year-old has a plus/minus of -3 while averaging just over 20 minutes of ice time per game.
Henrique was placed on IR after being injured during the Oilers’ 6-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Jan. 6. With his updated status, the veteran center won’t be eligible to return to the lineup until Jan. 31, when Edmonton takes on the Minnesota Wild, though the team has already announced that the 35-year-old is expected to return after the Olympic Break next month.
The Oilers (23-16-7) are second in the Pacific Division, one point back of the Vegas Golden Knights for first. Edmonton visits the Predators on Tuesday night.
