Finland and Slovakia will face off today for the Bronze Medal game. Finland suffered a 3-2 loss to Canada after they blew a 2-0 lead. Slovakia is coming off a 6-2 loss to the United States yesterday. Ahead of today’s game Mikko Rantanen is out for Finland as he apparently suffered a lower-body injury in the third period of their loss to Canada. Rantanen had two goals and four assists in the five games he played in during the tournament; one of those goals came in yesterday’s loss. This season, in 54 games for Dallas, he has 69 points on 20 goals and 49 assists. He’s a plus-two with five power-play goals. The Stars return on Wednesday so time will tell if Rantanen is out there for Dallas.
