Slovakia punched their ticket to the semifinals with a dominant 6–2 win over Germany in the quarterfinals today. Slovakia jumped out early and pulled away with a huge second period, led by Pavol Regenda’s two goals and an assist, along with strong contributions from Dalibor Dvorsky, Oliver Okuliar, and Tomáš Tatar, while goaltender Samuel Hlavaj kept Germany at bay. Germany, despite an assist from Leon Draisaitl and goals from Lukas Reichel and Frederik Tiffels, never really got going and were eliminated from medal contention.
