Panthers Announce Another New Contract After Signing Bennett, Ekblad, and Marchand

The Florida Panthers have re-signed three key players already, and now, they've brought back a depth piece as they announce a new deal for Tomas Nosek.

After winning back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2024 and 2025, the Florida Panthers had some huge business to take care of this off-season, and before free agency even arrived, they did just that.

Over the past week, the Panthers have announced new deals for Brad Marchand, Sam Bennett and Aaron Ekblad, signalling that they're ready to make this team a dynasty moving forward.

General Manager Bill Zito wasn't done however, as the team have now signed a new deal, inking veteran forward Tomas Nosek to a new, team friendly one-year extension worth $775,000 for next season.

The 32-year old played in 59 games with Florida a season ago, and while he tallied just 1 goal and 9 points with a +4 differential, he was a crucial part of the team's bottom six throughout their Stanley Cup run.

In the post-season, Nosek played well in 16 games for this team, and now he gets rewarded with a new deal for a team that's running it back in 2026, with optimism that they can once again compete for a Stanley Cup.

With 493 NHL games under his belt, the former un-drafted winger could have likely sought a bigger deal elsewhere on the free agency market, but instead he stayed loyal to the team that gives him the best chance to win, and given their loaded squad, there's no reason why they can't be a contender once more.

As for the Panthers, they're now hard up against the salary cap, but we've seen Bill Zito work some magic before, so while they won't be active in free agency, don't be shocked to see them making big additions to this team at some point this upcoming season.
