Panthers forward A.J. Greer is hitting right back at Oilers defenseman Jake Walman, who squirted a water bottle toward the Florida bench during Game 3, which earned him a $10K fine.
Things got rough in the 3rd period of Monday night's Game 3 of the SCF between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers, as multiple skirmishes broke out and resulted in a busy job for the official scorers in transcribing all of the penalty minutes that were assessed as a result.
There was also a notable incident in which Oilers defenseman Jake Walman squirted a water bottle toward the Panthers bench, getting the clothing of commentator Brian Boucher, who was reporting from between the benches, wet.
Walman picked up a $5K fine from the NHL as a result, while also being fined $5K because of his actions against Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk earlier in the game.
Now, Panthers forward A.J. Greer is speaking out against Walman with a clever response, saying he and his teammates don't need any water from the Oilers as they have plenty of their own.
We have plenty of water in our bench. We got great trainers, great training staff. We got Gatorade, we got water, Body Armor. We got some nice stuff over there.
Walman didn't try and hide from his actions, saying he'd better be more careful next time due to cameras being everywhere.
I obviously did that for a reason. I won't go into the details. It's just gamesmanship, I guess. I've just got to realize there's cameras everywhere and they see that stuff.
The won the game 6-1 and now lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 on Thursday.
