The Florida Panthers will be looking to close out their second-round playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 6. After going down 2-0 to open the matchup, Florida has responded well, taking three straight wins from Toronto.
The Panthers have shown impressive championship poise, especially in Game 5 on the road. Florida is looking to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, and they are one of the more experienced teams around the league.
Under head coach Paul Maurice, the Panthers hold an incredible 26-0 record when leading after the end of the first or second period. This is an astonishing streak for Maurice and shows exactly why he is one of the better coaches in the NHL.
You do not want to let the Panthers end a period with the lead. #StanleyCup

If the Panthers are able to knock out the Maple Leafs, they would set up a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina took down the Washington Capitals in five games, making things look easy against the best team in the Eastern Conference.
Florida understands that it will take a lot to close out the Maple Leafs, but they are relying on experience to help guide them.
“The first lesson was Toronto two years ago. We had a 3-0 series lead, went home and wanted it so bad that we tried to make it happen every time we touched the puck. We were just throwing hope plays. So I think a bit of patience in the game. … You learn something, you usually don’t forget it, right? Like if you learn how to tie your shoe, two years later you don’t forget, so we thought we learned it two years ago and then forgot it for three straight games in the Final last year. So it’s nothing you get to keep. It’s something that you have to live through and maybe you recall pieces of it.”, Maurice said.
Game 6 between the two teams is scheduled to kick off on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
