The Florida Panthers announced Tuesday the signing of goaltender Brandon Buss to a one-year, two-way contract.

PuckPedia reported the value of the deal will be $775,000 at the NHL level and $400,000 in the minors.

The 27-year-old Bussi appeared in 33 games with the Boston Bruins’ AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, posting a 15-14-4 record, a .907 save percentage (SV%) and 2.77 goals against average (GAA). He was tied for third in the AHL with five shutouts.

In four AHL seasons, the Sound Beach, N.Y., native has a .915 SV% and 2.61 GAA in 111 career regular-season appearances with the Bruins. An undrafted goalie, Bussi spent three seasons playing college hockey with Western Michigan University between 2019-20 and 2021-22. In 77 games, he posted a .910 SV% and 2.61 GAA.

In 2018-19, Bussi played with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL, posting a 33-12-4 record with a .915 SV% and 2.44 GAA.

The Panthers finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 47-31-4 record and 98 points, third in the Atlantic Division. In the playoffs, they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers to win their second consecutive Stanley Cup championship. It was also the third straight year they have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final.

Forward Sam Reinhart led the team in goals and points with 39 and 81, respectively. Florida captain Aleksander Barkov led the way with 51 assists. Barkov would win the 2025 Selke Trophy and King Clancy Trophy.
