The 2nd straight Stanley Cup by the Florida Panthers may have come at a cost, as there is now a chance Matthew Tkachuk could miss several months while rehabilitating his injuries, per analyst Nick Kypreos.
The Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup for the 2nd year in a row , coincidentally also doing it twice over the Edmonton Oilers.
But while the Panthers continue to live it up as Stanley Cup winners once again, they could be without one of their most important players for the 1st several months of 2025-26.
Per a new report from analyst Nick Kypreos, Matthew Tkachuk could be absent through the Christmas break while rehabilitating from his injuries that very well may require surgery.
Nick Kypreos: There's a possibility that Matthew Tkachuk's injury may need corrective surgery which could keep him out through the Christmas break - Sportsnet
Late last month during Florida's exit interviews before officially breaking for the summer, Tkachuk admitted that he was mulling undergoing surgery.
I've got to go through some steps here and then see if I need surgery or not."It's going to take a few weeks to determine if I need it. It's probably 50-50, right now. I don't know if it'll be a normal summer or not. I hope so. I'm not just going to jump right into surgery without talking to everybody and going through everything. I have a few weeks here where I can figure it out.
Tkachuk was initially hurt during the 4 Nations Faceoff in late February, and missed the remainder of the regular season before coming back for the playoffs.
