Patrik Laine is now a member of the Montreal Canadiens and many fans are eager to see whether or not he is actually going to pan out with the franchise.
After being traded over from Columbus, there have been numerous questions about his playing style and his attitude. There are those who believe he has changed while others need to see a bit more proof. Whatever the case may be, there is no denying the fact that this will be a huge make-or-break season for Laine and his career.
Now, Simon Boisvert is giving his take on the Laine situation. During the Commission Athlétique podcast, Boisvert revealed what Laine's biggest weakness is. As you would probably imagine, it has to do with his defense and his attitude.
'At the beginning of his career, I would say that he was perhaps a little more dynamic, but above all, it's easier to forgive a guy who is not yet 20 years old, and who scores 80 goals in 2 seasons!'
These are criticisms that have been around for a while but for Habs fans, this might be their first time truly engaging with it. Having said that, it is going to be very interesting to see whether or not Laine can distance himself from the narratives that have existed about him for years at this point.
