PITTSBURGH – Not only did the Edmonton Oilers walk all over the Pittsburgh Penguins, but they did so in front of a couple of franchise icons. Connor McDavid put up a goal and two assists, while the players who wore two of the three numbers retired by the Penguins were in attendance.
Jaromir Jagr is back in town for the Mario Lemieux Fantasy Camp and he took in the game between the Penguins and Oilers. After the Oilers' huge win, Jagr visited the Oilers’ locker room and a couple of the biggest stars of today’s NHL.
Following the contest, Jagr met up with McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in the Oilers locker room. In a video tweeted by Sportsnet, Jagr is smiling ear-to-ear while meeting and shaking hands with arguably the best player in the game right now.

“You don’t even sweat,” Jagr said to McDavid upon meeting him.
McDavid does make the game look easy, and it came pretty easy for him against the Penguins in the Oiler’s 4-0 win. McDavid opened the scoring in the game when a bad pass from Kris Letang landed right on McDavid’s stick with plenty of open space to work with.
Just after the game, McDavid spoke about how Pittsburgh is like “a second home game” to him thanks to his close ties to Western Pennsylvania and his fondness of Sidney Crosby and the Penguins as a child. McDavid played his junior hockey with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League.
“I loved my time in Erie, and Pittsburgh was just down the road,” McDavid said. “Been to Penguins games many, many times. It was something we loved to do.”
Jagr just had his number retired by the Penguins a few weeks ago, where he had ample opportunity to meet and spend time with guys like Crosby and Letang. This time around, he met up with the Oilers’ stars as the Penguins are yet to win with Jagr in the building.
