It must be special for Phillip Danault.
He left the Canadiens organization in the summer of 2021… and now he’s back in town. As he said this morning after the club’s practice in Boston, it’s like he never left after all.
And you can tell from his words that he’s happy to be back here.

Danault is happy to have seen the members of the organization again.
He skated in Brossard yesterday, and he mentioned that too: being back in the Canadiens’ practice complex felt good. He feels at home, and that’s normal because he played here for six years before leaving for California.
So much the better, if he’s happy.
Seeing Danault smile again makes me wonder: can this help him get his game back, too?
We know he hasn’t had a great season so far, and that it’s been a bit complicated in Los Angeles. He hasn’t scored in 30 games this season and has only five assists to his name.
That’s not much. But if he gets his bearings back and comes back to Montreal, maybe that’ll help him unlock his potential…
It’s happened before, after all. Sometimes, a player just needs a change of scenery to get back to where he was, and I hope that’s going to happen with the Québécois.
At least, if it does… it would be a wicked good thing for Martin St-Louis and the Canadiens. Because it would help on so many levels too.
– Nice.
The @MTLAlouettes sign québécois Alexandre Gagné to a new one-year contract.
Last season, he finished with 25 tackles on special teams (2nd in the CFL), including 7 in a single game (record) @TVASports
