Canada TV: Prime (Canada)

Time: 7:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

It’s another Western Conference matchup in our latest Monday Night Hockey on Prime edition of NHL predictions. This time, the Seattle Kraken try to stop their late-season swoon against the Winnipeg Jets. Both teams are on the outside looking in of the Stanley Cup Playoff picture. However, Winnipeg may be able to find a way to sneak into the postseason if things break their way.

Seattle has dropped eight of its last nine games and only gotten points in four of those games. The Kraken were withing touching distance of the postseason after the Olympics but have fallen off a cliff.

Winnipeg won the President’s Trophy last season but seemed doomed to miss the postseason after struggling in late 2025 and early 2026. However, a late-season surge has given the Jets a chance to complete an amazing turnaround.

Let’s take a look at the statistics and storylines for this Monday night edition of NHL predictions.

The Kraken Story

Seattle does have a 2-0 advantage in the season series against Winnipeg. The Kraken aren’t technically eliminated, but they are six points behind the second wild card spot in the Western Conference heading into Sunday night’s games.

Joey Daccord is the projected starter for Seattle but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Daccord has a 19-19-6 record to go with a 2.89 goals-against-average and .899 save percentage.

The Kraken have struggled to score at times this season and have an offence that only scores an average of 2.79 goals per game. Bobby McMann, who came over from the Toronto Maple Leafs, leads the team in goals with 27.

The Jets Story

Winnipeg had some massive struggles around the holiday season. However, the Jets have played better since returning from the Olympic break. Winnipeg’s postseason charge may fall short, but it hasn’t packed it like some teams have.

Gold medalist Connor Hellebuyck is the probable starter for the Jets, who are 5-3-2 in and got a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last time out. Hellebuyck has a 21-21-11 record with a 2.77 GAA and .898 save percentage.

Mark Scheifele has a good shot at reaching the 100-point mark with just six games left. He currently has 94 so far this season and would need to average a point a game to get to that milestone.

Prediction

Both teams are in need of points if they want to catch teams like the Los Angeles Kings, St Louis Blues and others that are ahead of the Jets and Kraken. These two teams are similar in many statistical categories. However, the Jets are more in form and should get the win.

Prediction: Jets win 3-2.

Best Bets

We close out this Monday Night Hockey on Prime edition of NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. The over/under for the Kraken versus the Jets is 5.5, and we like the under in this game.

As far as individual props, go with Matty Beniers to get at least a point in this game. On the Winnipeg side of things, take Kyle Connor to notch a power-play goal.
