Projected Habs Lineup for 2025-26 Sparks Excitement Among Fans
Neville E. Guard-Imagn Images

Marc-Olivier Beaudoin shared a really interesting idea for the Montreal Canadiens in 2025-26, and honestly, it makes us dream a little.

Here is the lineup he proposes.

The Forward Lines, Led by Ivan Demidov and Nick Suzuki

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky:

We already know the chemistry between Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, but if Juraj Slafkovsky starts producing consistently, this line could be dominant.

Laine-Dach-Demidov:

Imagine a line with Patrik Laine's power, Kirby Dach's all-around game, and Ivan Demidov's raw talent.

That could be dangerous.

Heineman-Newhook-Anderson:

A fast line that can bring energy.

If Alex Newhook becomes solid at center, it would add speed to this line.

Olivier-Evans-Gallagher:

If Mathieu Olivier signs with the Habs, he would bring toughness to this line.

Jake Evans and Brendan Gallagher would complete a very reliable trio.

On Defense:

Hutson-Matheson:

Lane Hutson has tons of potential, and Mike Matheson is the kind of defenseman who can help him develop.

Guhle-Carrier:

Two solid and reliable guys who play well at both ends.

Xhekaj-Reinbacher:

If David Reinbacher has a strong camp, he could be NHL-ready.

Otherwise, David Savard is a short-term option.

Goaltenders:

Montembeault-Dobes:

Samuel Montembeault would take the lead, with Jakub Dobes pushing from behind.

What I like about this idea is that it keeps a good mix of veterans and young players.

With guys like Beck, Roy, and Mailloux pushing for a spot, the competition would be intense.

Of course, several things would need to happen.

Mathieu Olivier and Jake Evans would have to sign reasonable contracts, and Reinbacher would need a big camp to stay in Montreal.

Just imagining this gives me hope for the future of the Habs.
